2022 Recap! Going to be an AWESOME 2023!!

Hey Everybody! It is that time again where we wrap up the last year. It’s been full of ups and downs. SOME REALLY FUN UPS, but man. It was BRUTAL out there, how about y’all!?! Manufacturing is coming back, still not at a 100% as it was before the pandemic, but products are coming in now and people are getting stoked!

INCLUDING THIS GUY!!!

Cradle of Filth singer Dani Filth with HIS action figure!! Also the Succubus from Bitter Suites to Succubi!

But overall this was a year of reflection, new aspirations, new adventures, and new business! We gained a few new clients, managed to work out some new deals, and had some real fun along the way. We made it back to Big Sur! We took the Tesla out to see how comfortable it was to travel, and man, it was EASY And CHEAP!!!! I was super impressed that in the middle of nowhere we could find Super Chargers. Our next big trip was to Colorado in September which was Much further. Things opened up a bit more as well so we kind of went ham!

After two long years, finally got to go back to see the family in Texas. And in the process got my half sleeve started! This is a pretty exciting one for me. I’m a HUGE fan of Adventure Time. This is just the start which already looks great! The artist is Cassandra Keel at Rebel Muse in Lewisville.

We Tried out a new show, and are really finding for Threadful Things Horror based conventions are just not our bag. But that’s ok! We found some RAD vendors we really liked one being SAMHAIN CUSTOMS! They are great, he makes everything Coffins! INCLUDING THE ICONIC LEG LAMP! So we made friends and have begun helping him with new custom sculpts like this RAD AF Creature from the Black Lagoon Lamp!!

Laura even got her VERY FIRST Skateboard! Because of course it’s also a Coffin, and the Death Tarot Card, AND PURPLE!

We finally ate at Roy Choi’s Best Friend in Las Vegas. This was a huge one for me as I LOVE Roy Choi and all that he is doing. Next time we will book in advance and eat in the family room, but the open seating was also a great option. FOOD WAS FIRE!!!! This was some of the best food I ate all year.

Over at Incendium we finally got to get in on FREE COMIC BOOK DAY! WHAT A DAY IT WAS at Golden Apple Comics no Less. It's one of the most famous comic book stores in the country!! We had a table promoting the first book for Death Dealer with one of my best Friends Mitch Iverson, our Editor Denton came up to sign with us and Dan Panosian who has graced many of our covers now as well! I also made Mitch’s Pen Axe for signing.

Look at all that Frazetta Goodness!!!

We Published a few comics this year….. And Counting!

I even managed to get some stuff done for another new client - Iron Studios. Made them some enamel pins as well as Swag Bags for SDCC. While I did not attend this year for the first time in a long time I was there in spirit :)

This year we also had our VERY FIRST BIG Exclusive with Entertainment Earth!

Was able to hang with some old friends! Been a bit!

We also made a pact last year that we were going to see as much live music as possible! Especially after we saw Foo Fighters last year and shortly after Taylor Hawkins passed. We were lucky enough to see such an amazing show so we even hit the road again, this time in a Tesla Model Y to see how that one was on the road, in case we wanted to upgrade down the road. AND MAN it did not disappoint. We went to Red Rocks in Colorado for a friends Birthday Celebration which kicked it off for us. This show was INCREDIBLE. Probably hands down the best sound I’ve seen in person. Nine Inch Nails for the Win! The Road Trip was also just breathtaking. Saw the sights of Beautiful Colorado along the way.

Oh Right, I also take Photos.. Sometimes I remember! Hahah!

I designed a Record Cover for The Reckless Ones! This was a pretty fun one this year!

Traveleda to San Diego to see Mastodon and Ghost \m/

Went to Las Vegas for Zak Bagans HAUNTED MUSEUM!!! This has been on the list for a good amount of time.

This took three hours, and we were late to the show that night to see, one of my all time Favorites… GWAR!!! WHICH WE HAD VIP for so it worked out great. Just missed opening bands. And the groom in the bachelor party (pictured in grey behind the wing) was ALSO A FAN and we saw him at the show. Hilarious!

We also got to see Zeal and Ardor the following week. \m/ These dudes were down two members due to sickness, but crushed. Will see countless times more. They also were 25 BEST ALBUMS OF 2022 from Revolver. They’re getting bigger which is great to see.

Imperial Triumphant

Sylvaine

The VERY Next Night we saw the Yeah Yeah Yeahs with Japanese Breakfast AND The Linda Lindas at the Hollywood Bowl. This was such a fun show!

All of this Craziness alongside my partner in Crime - Laura!!!

We had a SANTA ON A PANDA POP UP SHOP!!!! And we did a few events this year.

Mitch made a short film last year, and we finally got to see our hard work on this as well. (I was prop master/set dresser)

Mitch and I even made it back home again for our good friends wedding. I’ve literally known this dude since Kindergarten.

I even heard Britney Spears made an appearance?!

Well that’s about all I can recall at this time. It’s been a whirlwind of a year as I mentioned, but this was such a good year for firsts, some more projects that are bubbling away in the background and some new things I can share hopefully in the beginning of 2023! Stay Tuned!!! \m/
